general practice / family medicine
Whether
you are just visiting, are here for the season, or a Whistler resident,
the Northlands Medical Clinic and our dedicated and experienced physicians
welcome you and are honored to be involved in your medical
care. Continuing primary care is available for any and all who wish
to make the Northlands Medical Clinic, or any of our physicians,
their primary care provider. If you are a part-time, seasonal, or
short-term resident you can also designate the Northlands Medical
Clinic as your primary care facility during your residency here. Your
electronic medical file will always remain active in the clinic,
and can be updated as needed with information from other care providers. Returning
vacationing visitors can also rest assured that their files will
remain active in the clinic and provide for a measure of continuity
in care even on vacation (ie. infrequent visits). In other
clinics, due to limited space, paper charts of
non active patients may be archived i.e stored and not easily accessible. If
you travel here on a semi-regular basis our clinic can provide ongoing
care with all relevant historical data, as no information is archived
and remains active when you return. Our physicians
are pleased to be your family doctor away from home.
The
Northlands Medical Clinic provides same-day
appointments and welcomes walk-ins but
is based on the model of continuity of care. You can be assured that
you will be notified of relevant test results and recalled for
follow-ups as needed. The doctors who work in the clinic will all
ensure that any abnormal lab or other tests are conveyed to you immediately
and are responsible for your health care until the problem is resolved.
If you would like us to print out copies of the doctors note from
your visit or have copies of relevant data faxed to your home doctor,
please advise us at the time of visit.
We offer immunizations and allergy desensitizations. Periodic health
exams, preventive health and screening exams are all available
and encouraged.
